‘We’ve told our friends that Beal homes are the best to buy’

Here, retired couple Barry and Christine White, who moved to their four-bedroom home in September 2023, share their experience as Beal buyers.

Tell us about your Beal home and why you love it so much.

When we bought our previous home in Cottingham almost 40 years ago, it was derelict and we completely refurbished it. After spending so much time on it, and looking after a huge garden, we wanted to downsize.

We are over the moon with our Haxby. We love the layout and everything about it.

We love our extended kitchen and dining room. We spend most our time in this area and all our guests comment on how lovely it is. We’ve also repurposed one of the bedrooms into a dressing room.

Our old house was full of memories and we loved it, but this is perfect for us now. It’s a lot warmer, more energy efficient, we still have a big enough garden and we’re really settled here.

What do you love most about being part of the community at West Hill II?

The location is great. We’re very close to local amenities, which means we can easily visit family, go to the local pub, or shop at Waitrose just across the road. We can also walk into Willerby, which is perfect.

We’re fit for our age, but you don’t know what will happen in the future, so it’s nice to have everything so close by. We don’t need a car and that was a big factor in our decision to buy at West Hill II.

How was your service experience with Beal Homes?

We initially went to see a Beal home in Welton and the team mentioned they had one ready at West Hill II. Beal provided excellent service from the start. They were informative and supportive throughout our buying process, even when we encountered some delays with our buyer’s solicitor. Their understanding and assistance made moving to our new home much smoother than we expected.

What advice would you give to others considering buying a Beal home?

We’ve already told our friends that Beal homes are the best houses to buy. A member of our family lives in a Beal home in Hessle and he loves it too.

The quality is excellent and so many people comment on how well built the homes are.

Our experience has been very positive and we feel we’ve made a great choice.
