Under the hard hat: Say hello to Danny Towle

Our talented team is dedicated to making sure our customers experience the ‘Beal Difference’ and our expert site teams ensure all our homes are built and finished to the very highest quality.

We’ve been speaking to some of our site team members to find out more about their roles and this month we spoke to Bishop’s Green’s award-winning site manager, Danny Towle.

Danny has been with Beal for seven years and earlier this year was awarded a Quality Award in the National House Building Council (NHBC) Pride in the Job Awards.

Q) Tell us about your roles at Beal – what does a typical day look like?

My day usually starts with going through all of the health and safety, before organising the trades and ensuring everyone knows what they are doing.

My job is to make sure that every person working on site is producing the high-quality work that Beal expects.

Q) Tell us about your background and how you got into the role you now have?

My uncle owned a house building company and I began working on site with him from a young age.

I studied joinery at college and then did an apprenticeship in plumbing so I have experience of working across a number of trades.

I joined Beal around seven years ago as a patcher and after working my way up I was appointed as a site manager 13 months ago.

Q) What attracted you to join Beal Homes?

I knew that Beal had a really good reputation for looking after their staff which was really important to me. They treat each member of staff as an individual and make everyone feel valued.

I could also see the exceptional standard of Beal homes and knew I wanted to be part of that. In my opinion, the standard of Beal homes far surpasses that of other house builders, so I knew I’d be proud to work for such a reputable business.

Q) What do you enjoy most about your job?

The best part of the job is handing the home over to the customer, it always feels like such a proud achievement.

The bespoke nature of Beal is also something I really love. Beal’s brand statement is ‘Designed by you’ and every home truly is designed by the customer.

Each plot is so unique and you don’t get that with any other house builders, so I love that we offer such a personalised service to customers and give them the opportunity to put their own stamp on their new home.

Danny was recently awarded a Quality Award and a Seal of Excellence Award in the NHBC Pride in the Job Awards

Q) What do you like to do when you’re not at work?

I’ve always played football and I now manage a Sunday League team based in Hull.

Many of the guys who I work with on site have now joined the team which I manage and we’ve become good friends outside of work too.

Quick-fire Questions

Q) You can invite three people – dead or alive – to a dinner party. Who’s at the table?

That’s an easy one for me. The three original hosts of the revamped Top Gear, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May. I’m a big Top Gear fan and those three are just like three big kids, so I think it would be a great night with them.

Q) Favourite TV show?

Surprisingly it’s not Top Gear! It’s The Walking Dead.

Q) What’s the best place you’ve been on holiday?

Zante in Greece.

Q) If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

Invisibility.
