The development partners driving forward the regeneration of the Fruit Market have stepped forward to support a new music and arts festival run by the organisers of Humber Street Sesh.
The Wykeland Beal joint venture of commercial developer Wykeland Group and housebuilder Beal Homes is among the sponsors of Inner City Sesh.
The one-day music and arts festival will be held in Hull’s Queens Gardens on September 18 and will be staged by Sesh Events, in partnership with Hull City Council.
The event is also being made possible by sponsors Wykeland Beal, Visit Hull and East Yorkshire (VHEY), the University of Hull and marketing agency Pace Communications.
As part of Wykeland Beal’s sponsorship, the development partners will support a major photographic exhibition at the event.
The exhibition of large-scale photos will be mounted by the University of Hull Main Stage. It will illustrate the very best of Humber Street Sesh over the years and provide a platform for the work of some of Hull’s best photographers.
Wykeland Beal also intend to re-stage the exhibition at a venue in the Fruit Market following Inner City Sesh, so more people can enjoy it.
Inner City Sesh is being organised following the cancellation of Humber Street Sesh this year, mainly due to ongoing flood defence works on Hull Marina.
Wykeland Managing Director Dominic Gibbons said: “The Fruit Market is where Humber Street Sesh was born and the area has always played a big part in the event.
“It’s disappointing that it can’t be held this year, but it’s great news that the Sesh Events team is still able to stage a major music and arts festival in the city centre.
“We’re delighted to sponsor Inner City Sesh and support the photographic exhibition. We’re also excited that we will host it in the Fruit Market later this year.”

Inner City Sesh will run from 12 midday to 11 pm, featuring the best of Humber Street Sesh with The University of Hull Main Stage, Dead Bod Stage, Emerging Musicians Stage, and a stage dedicated to some of the finest DJs in the region.
Community favourites include: The Silent Disco Marquee; Team Extreme Skate Park, with displays from the experts; Festival Markets for independent traders; a funfair on Guildhall Road; Photo Exhibition, showcasing Hull’s burgeoning music scene; graffiti art, art installations and an array of food choices and bars.
Festival organisers are keen to make the event as environmentally friendly as possible with 2 solar powered music stages, recycling stations and compostable glasses at the bars.
