Say hello to Tessa from our Design Lounge team

We’ve been speaking to our Design Lounge team to find out more about how they help customers create their ideal home.

This week we spoke to selections design consultant, Tessa Stork, who has been with us for five years. Here’s what she had to say …

Tell us about your job – What does a typical day look like?

A typical day for me is making sure the Design Lounge is set up for day for our lovely customers that are booked in, so we can give them a day to remember whilst they design their new home with us.

I also visit our sites to check the properties when they have all their choices fitted so I can see first-hand it all come together, and check it is all correct.

Tessa joined us five years ago.

How do you help customers bring their dream home to life?

We like to get to know our customers to begin with to find out their personal taste and what trends they prefer. This helps us navigate a design that suits their personal taste and also their family lifestyle.

We love when our customers have images and inspiration to bring with them to the appointment as this really helps us bring their dream home to life.

 

What’s is the best thing about your role?

The best part of my job is knowing that we’ve turned our customers’ dream homes into reality, and they’ll soon see their visions come to life.

It’s also very rewarding being able to go into these homes before the customers move in, to see the finished result – and let’s face it, the finished result never disappoints!

 

What is your favourite interior design trend at the moment?

My favourite interior design trend at the moment is a modern farmhouse trend. I’m all for a modern shaker, woods and warm neutral tones.

I love earthy, layered palettes of pinks and sage greens. I think all of these colours make any room feel cosy and comforting, especially in a new build property.

Tessa also visits our sites to see the properties with all the final choices in place, watching it all come together first-hand.

What is your favourite upgrade?

My favourite upgrade at the moment is the Matt Black Package for the bathrooms and ensuites. I think this gives the rooms a luxurious feel and it really elevates the space, giving it the wow factor!

The black accents are really on trend at the moment so our customers are very happy that we have this as an option. I would definitely be adding it to my basket!

 

What trends are you expecting to see next season?

I think that wooden accents are going to be more popular next season. We are already seeing an increase in our oak and walnut offerings.

Paired with a white shaker door, our wood-effect laminate worktops and similar style flooring create a look we love and expect to see more of!

What attracted you to join Beal Homes?

I used to regularly drive past West Hill, our Kirk Ella site, and I was always blown away by how beautiful the houses looked. I knew one day I wanted to work here, and live in a Beal home. I’ve been lucky enough to do both.

 

What do you do to relax away from work?

I love to spend time with my family and friends. I also love spending time in my home, always looking at ways to style and make the most of the space. I spend a lot of time online getting house inspiration.
