We caught up with retired couple Garry and Kim Asbery, who moved into their three-bedroom Dalby in December 2022 after relocating from Northamptonshire, to downsize and live closer to their family.

Tell us about your Beal home and why you love it so much.

Having looked at a few properties, we chose Beal Homes and the Dalby because the house was just right for us.

The house is well-proportioned, with a good sized kitchen diner, living area and bedrooms.

This is the ideal place for us because Beverley has so much to offer and we can walk into town from here. We’re close to the main transport routes, with health facilities nearby and we really like the area.

What are the best things about being part of the community at St Mary’s View?

It’s a very friendly community in a lovely area.

Shortly after we arrived, our next door neighbour left us half a dozen eggs from her Dad’s farm, which was lovely. That shows how considerate the neighbours are.

The location is really good too. We’re really close to Beverley Westwood and the golf course, so we can step outside for a lovely walk at any time and it’s perfect for Garry to play golf a couple of times a week.

How did you find the service from Beal?

It was very good. Laura, the sales executive who looked after us, was extremely helpful and so friendly and polite. She is so passionate about her job and looking after her customers. She kept us updated all the way through the process.

We were really pleased with the service, including how the small number of minor snags we had were sorted out extremely quickly and efficiently.

How did Beal help you through the buying process?

Beal recommended a solicitor to us, who was excellent, and it was all very straightforward. We were in Australia for a month before moving here, so we exchanged contracts while we were there. Despite being on the other side of the world, it all went very smoothly! We were very happy with our experience.

With other housebuilders we had talked to, the speed of selling the house we then owned seemed to be their primary concern, but we didn’t feel that pressure at all with Beal.

How have the Beal team helped you to make your home a perfect fit for your lifestyle and tastes?

We really enjoyed our selections day in the Beal Design Lounge. It was really well organised and it was lovely to be able to make our choices for colours and fittings.

Beal put us in touch with someone who could install blinds for us and we wanted some extra cupboards in the kitchen, which was no trouble at all.

There was almost too much choice, but plenty to suit our budget, and the guidance from the Design Lounge team was excellent. The design of our home is excellent and suits us perfectly.

What would you say to other househunters about buying a Beal home?

We would definitely recommend Beal Homes to others. In fact, we already have! We told some friends Beal is a good company and a good choice for a new home.

Beal met all our expectations, and exceeded them in some areas, and everything we’ve needed has been sorted out very quickly. We were really pleased with the whole experience.
