Take Five with … Jamie Barrington, Sales Operations Manager

At Beal, we know how much time and love goes into finding the perfect home.

Our professional, friendly team are on hand to help you every step of the way, from the big decisions to the finishing touches.

We take great pride in providing you with a personal, unique experience when choosing and designing your home.

Our talented team makes that possible, so we launched our “Take Five” series to recognise their efforts.

Each month we ask a different member of the Beal team five questions about who they are, how they joined us, what they do and what they most enjoy about working for Beal.

This month, we catch up with Jamie Barrington, Sales Operations Manager.

As Sales Operations Manager at Beal Homes, Jamie works alongside the Sales and Marketing Director and Sales Managers.

Tell us about your job and what’s the best thing about it.

In my role as Sales Operations Manager, I work alongside our Sales and Marketing Director and Sales Managers to support them with marketing, the set-up and running of our sales arenas and show homes, whilst also looking at the saleability of future developments.

I love that no two days are the same. I get to work with a wide variety of other departments at Beal, from land and technical through to our Design Lounge team and the sales executives out on our developments.

What attracted you to join Beal Homes?

I previously worked for a national housebuilder, but what attracted me to Beal the most was the fact that it was a family-run business.

I also admired the range of developments that Beal Homes delivers, from the urban village at Hull’s Fruit Market in the city centre to water-side living at Burton Waters near Lincoln.

Beal have such an eclectic mix within its property portfolio – each development has its own identity and is uniquely branded to tell the history of the development.

Jamie loves the outdoors, and spending time out on the water. He’s also hoping to convince his wife into letting him buy an old VW campervan!

What is your favourite Beal development and house type and why?

My favourite development has to be the Fruit Market. So much care and attention went into this development, the street scenes are stunning and there’s such a great buzz around the whole area following the regeneration of the site. A true legacy project!

My favourite house type would have to be the Carlton. I’ve always wanted a double garage, and having a separate study so you don’t have to use a bedroom would be great.

I also love the fully opened-up kitchen, dining and family room space across the back of the house, which is perfect for all the family.

What do you do to relax away from work?

I have two young children, so my weekends are pretty much tied up with football, rugby and cricket training, matches and dance lessons. Aside from this, I’m an avid gardener and always have a project going on in our home.

When I get the time, I also like to listen to podcasts and read. I also binge watch ‘Suits’ on Netflix!

Tell us something about yourself that your Beal colleagues don’t know.

I love the outdoors, and spending time out on the water, and I’ve always wanted an old VW campervan but my wife said no!
