Family-owned housebuilder Beal Homes has begun work to pave the way for its latest luxury development in Hull’s popular Kingswood neighbourhood.
Beal has started infrastructure works on the site, including construction of roads and sewage systems, ahead of building starting on the first homes.
The East Yorkshire-based housebuilder is investing £120m in the development, named King’s Crescent, to bring 450 luxury new homes to a 52-acre site west of Richmond Way in Kingswood.
The first bricks are expected to be laid later this year, with the first plots due to be released by late summer.
Beal Construction Director Andy Devine said: “We’ve now moved onto the King’s Crescent site and local residents can expect to see our experienced construction teams carrying out infrastructure works, including roads and sewers installation, over the coming weeks before the first homes begin to rise from the ground.
“As with all of our developments, we’re committed to ensuring work on site is carried out with minimal disruption to the surrounding community and with full consideration for local people.”
King’s Crescent will be delivered in two phases, with full planning permission granted for the first 214 homes and outline planning permission in place for a further 236 homes.
The first phase will include a wide range of two, three and four-bedroom house types, including semi-detached, mews and detached homes, suitable for all types of buyers.
The King’s Crescent infrastructure works follow the success of Beal’s neighbouring King’s Fold development, which now has only 14 homes remaining available. In all, Beal has delivered more than 1,200 high-quality new homes in Kingswood since 1994.
Sales and Marketing Director Ross Clarkson said: “We’re excited to have begun work on site to enable our latest development in Kingswood and that we’ll soon be offering another opportunity to own a luxury home in this popular neighbourhood.

King’s Crescent will also include provision of a large managed country park, planted with more than 800 trees, and Beal will also make a financial contribution to enable 99 new primary school places.
Beal is also currently funding and delivering a £2m project to enhance flood resilience for the whole Kingswood community, by carrying out works to widen and strengthen the embankment alongside the nearby River Hull.
The works will not only safeguard King’s Crescent, but the entire community in Kingswood, which now includes more than 3,500 homes, as well as numerous commercial and retail units.
Under the terms of the planning consent, the works to strengthen the embankment must be completed and the area fully landscaped before any homes on the site are occupied.
