Beal site management team enhances expertise with new qualifications

Beal Homes is continuing to invest in the progression and development of its colleagues by helping its site management team enhance their professional qualifications.

The 15-strong team have all been supported to complete their NVQ Level 6 in Site Management, demonstrating their competence in managing complex, high-stakes construction environments.

The work-based qualification is equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree and covers topics including health and safety, planning and resource management, site setup, environmental considerations, customer satisfaction and quality.

Assessed through a portfolio of evidence, the qualification requires site managers to compile documents, workplace photographs and transcripts of professional discussions to demonstrate how they competently manage a live construction site, work to improve safety cultures, and make significant decisions effectively.

Team members spent between 12-18 months compiling evidence and working with external assessors from the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) to complete the work required to secure the qualification.

Construction Director Andy Devine said: “We’re proud that all of our site managers now have their NVQ Level 6, ensuring consistently high standards of workmanship, health and safety, and management across all of our sites.

“Knowing all of our site management team members are qualified to a high level provides additional reassurance to everyone working on and entering our sites, and ensures we’re maintaining the most effective and efficient working environments.

“Investing in these new qualifications for our senior team members also further emphasises our dedication to creating the highest quality homes and developments. From the moment work begins on any development, customers can rest assured that every detail is being carefully managed and monitored by our highly-qualified team.”

Achieving the Level 6 qualifications also opens the door to further training and upskilling opportunities for the site management team, with the potential for team members to progress onto the Level 7 qualification in future.
